My name is Charlie and I’m Peruvian by birth and Mexican by heart. I began tattooing in the winter of 1999 in Mexico City in the shop “Tatuajes Mexico” with my friend Tony Serrano where I completed my apprenticeship, learned about needle building, sterilization, hygiene and working with clients, after a year my desire to learn more opened the doors of “Tattoo Age” in Mexico City to me, working with Marco Keik. That shop planted in me the drive to continually improve my work. After a year I moved to Cozumel, Mexico with my best friend and big influence Luis Quientero of “The Tattoo Nook” I stayed there until September of 2005, but during those years I have had the honor of working as a guest artist at “Ritual” in Monterrey Mexico with my friend Cesar Castillo who has a magnificent shop and great team, in 2004 my friend Kiki Platas of "Tinta Distinta" opened the doors to me as a guest artist in Tijuana Mexico where I learned about techniques, and developing designs in his great studio with amazing artists, earning my admiration, respect and gratitude. In October of 2005 I moved to Minneapolis with my wife and son.I WANT TO THANK DAVID DETTLOFF. for giving me the oportunity to be part of this great family , and then keep going learning how to become better artist, better human been,spending time and sharing knowlage with my great ink/lab family. Mi nobre es Charlie soy peruano de nacimiento y Mexicano de Corazon, empeze a tatuar en el invierno de 1999 en la cd de Mexico en “Tatuajes Mexico” con mi amigo Tony Serrano donde tube un aprendizaje completo sobre como soldar agujas, esterilization e higiene, trato con los clientes, al paso de un año mi deseo por aprender mas me abrio las puertas de “Tattoo Age” con Marco Keik en el d.f. esa tienda sembro en mi el deseo de ser mejor y al paso de otro año me mude a Cozumel Mexico con mi mejor amigo y mas fuerte influencia Luis Quientero en “The Tattoo Nook”, hasta el Septiembre del 2005. Pero en el transcurso de esos años he tenido el honor de trabajar como tatuador invitado en “Ritual Tatuajes” en Monterrey Mexico con mi amigo Cesar Castillo quien tiene una magnifico estudio de tatuajes y un gran equipo de tatuadores, en el 2004 mi amigo el senor Kiki Platas me abre las puertas de “Tinta-Distinta” en Tijuana Mexico, donde aprendi mas a fondo sobre tecnicas y elaboracion de disenos, en TINTA DISTINTA he tenido el honor de concer artista reales , con un gran sentido de humildad , en TINTA DISTINTA me di cuenta que con esfuerzo y dedicacion podria llegar a ser un artista mas real.,un gran estudio con grandes artistas, ganandoce mi admiracion, respecto y gratitud. En Octubre del 2005 me mude a Minnesota con mi esposa he hijo. Para abrirme camino y seguir esforzandome mas y mas por mejorar la calidad de mi trabajo.y asi seguir aprendiendo, estudiando y creando.THE INK LAB, es el lugar que me ha dado la oportunidad de poder hacer esto realidad, estoy agradecido con DAVID DETTLOFF, por darme la oportunidad de formar parte de esta familia y poder aprender seguir aprendiendo como ser mejor artista,mejor ser humano.
